This Commencement of Mathematics Honours in Bankura Zilla Saradamani Mahila Mahavidyapith took place in 2006 which was an epoch-making incident. This was a landmark in the History of Bankura district as it was then the one and only girls' College in the District. It has opened the flood-gate for the girls to be educated in Science Stream. We attract mathematically motivated students and provide them academically coherent undergraduate programmes, with courses that range from the fundamental to the advanced level. Our department provides a students’ friendly environment and academic supports which help them in developing their logical and mathematical capabilities for their further flourishment.  

OBJECTIVES: 

• Appreciate the usefulness, power, and beauty of Mathematics.
• Develop abstract, logical and critical thinking among students.
• To inculcate the spirit of inquiry and analytical thinking.
• To assimilate education and research by incorporating recent discoveries, modern techniques into the curriculum. 
• To improve inter-disciplinary thinking by providing students with educational opportunities.
• To provide opportunities for the student to participate in collaborative work and develop their leadership and group work skills.
